Project Accountant

Ingenium is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant in our Atlanta based office.  This role is responsible for performing accounting and administrative tasks related to specific projects or project teams and provides a range of accounting and general office support to Project Managers and the Operations Department as a whole. This role interacts with all levels of staff, and is required to carry out recurring office and accounting procedures independently as well as part of collaborative assignments. Assigned tasks shall be required in contract coordination and project setup, project billing, accounts payable/receivable, budgetary and administrative support, and in the performance of routine statistical accounting calculations. The Project Accountant will also provide support in maintaining accounting schedules as prescribed by the department, and is expected to maintain financial and confidential information in strict confidence. Additionally, this role may be required to obtain Notary Public certification for contract processes.  The successful candidate is a self-starter who recognizes the importance of financial responsibility in project and contract management, and who is eager to support professional staff with administrative and financial expertise.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Project Accounting & Contract Maintenance:
• Coordination of standard project forms, RFPs and proposals
• Assistance with information gathering and communications with clients and subconsultants 
• Contract Review and Processing
• Project Setup, Database Entry, Budget Verification
• Subconsultant Compliance Maintenance, COI, W-9 Processing, Vendor setup packages
• Client & Project File Setup and organization on servers
• A/P Coding and Entry, monitoring adherence to established contracts and budgets
• Billing and A/R Functions, including collections
• Assistance with Expense Report review
• Assistance with Check requests
• Attendance in PM and other operational meetings

General and Project Administration:
• Assume general reception duties for local office (phones and greeting visitors)
• Assist staff with general administrative duties as requested
• Assist with project deliverables, client correspondence, etc. 
• Order office supplies and monitor inventory and supply organization for local office
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND ATTRIBUTES:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting/Finance, with a minimum of two years of accounting or related administrative experience in a professional services firm. A strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliation and familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping principles is ideal. The ability to communicate well both in written format and verbally is critical in this role. Additionally, a high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential or financial information is a must for this role.
