Quality Assurance Engineer/Production Lead
Ingenium is currently seeking to fill the role of Quality Assurance Manager / Civil Engineer in our Tampa area office. The role of the Quality Assurance Manager is to develop, implement and maintain a standardized Quality Assurance plan for land development projects for the firm, and to provide training, guidance, and monitoring of plans specific to projects of varying size and complexity. This role is also responsible for the coordination of percent-complete basis review schedules, and reviewing full plan sets for adherence to standards, guidelines, and code. The engineer will be challenged to provide innovative solutions to project issues utilizing current design standards and guidelines, while mentoring design staff towards efficiencies and areas of improvement through plan comments and collaborative review sessions. This team member will also assist Project Managers in maintaining client schedule and communications, coordinating with jurisdictions, and documenting the design process and design decisions on each project. This role may be Engineer of Record (EOR) of specific documents, plans, and/or tasks and must be proficient with Civil 3D and CAD design software required by the company and client. An exemplified ability to read & interpret construction plans, design standards, guidelines, and client scope and anticipate potential project issues in order to provide options for their resolution is required. This role is a key player in the team maintaining a high level of productivity toward a quality product.
The Quality Assurance Manager must be able to speak and write clearly and concisely; have strong multi-tasking and organizational skills; and be responsive to staff and client needs. He/she must be willing to assist Leadership as needed to facilitate corporate initiatives.
Specific Skills and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Proficiency with AutoCAD design software
• Experience preparing and compiling engineering documents and construction plans meeting client expectations, industry standards, and jurisdictional requirements with the ability to interpret and review construction plans for accuracy in meeting design standards, guidelines, and client scope
• Willingness and ability to provide design instruction and mark-ups to design engineers and CAD staff, with the ability to provide training and guidance to employees on processes and procedures
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute project plans for quality improvement initiatives
• Aptitude for developing, scheduling and maintaining focus on Quality Assurance plans, and continuous monitoring of progress and quality of task assignments for status reporting and productive scheduling
• Ability to facilitate permitting requirements on projects and manage communications and approval processes with local jurisdictions
• Ability to serve as EOR on specific tasks and projects
• Willingness to provide assistance to Team Engineers, Project Managers and Leadership as required
Required Education and Experience:
Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate engineering discipline. PE Certification is required. 10+ years progressive relevant design and review experience is required.
